Having a demon that likes you and lives near your home can have obvious benefits. When a mage attempts to create one of these creatures, it’s referred to as an ‘egregore.’ An egregore can be programmed to only act in certain situations, for example, a watchdog-type might only appear when strangers approach your house. Creating and feeding one requires a great deal of magical energy and sustained attention, so most mages who are interested in them usually make very small ones with a limited scope of action.
